Melbourne Skyline

Whenever I visit a new city I want to go to the highest place where I can have an aerial view. If going to an observatory deck is not possible I would be happy to settle in the rooftop of the hotel that I am staying. The coolest rooftop that I've been so far is that of Marina Bay Sands in Singapore maybe because of their famous infinity pool.

Bathing Boxes at Brighton Beach

When I knew I was going to Melbourne I was ecstatic because I will finally see the colourful bathing boxes. These painted beach huts were apparently built over a century ago in response to very Victorian ideas of morality and seaside bathing. Well, these famous beach huts have made it to one of the most photographed locations on this picturesque stretch of Brighton Beach coastline.

Art and Beauty in Fitzroy

Conservatory MelbourneWhen shopping and good food are together in one sentence, it would definitely be worth checking. And this pretty much describes Fitzroy the oldest suburb of Melbourne which happens to be also one of the coolest and most hip. On my second day in Melbourne I was ready to jump in donning my unworn cobalt blue coat and white jeans but my Melburnian friends had something better in mind.

The Graffiti art of Hosier Lane

Hosier LaneOne peculiar thing Melbourne is known for is its spray-printed streets. The Graffiti Management Plan of Melbourne established permits for artists and endorsed their work in designated areas of the city. Right on the same day we toured the major CBD attractions, we detoured to the famous Hosier Lane.

Places to see in Melbourne Central

What to wear in Melbourne
Royal Arcade
On the last week of August I went to Melbourne and had the most of my 3 days visiting the popular spots, indulging in the best cafes and getting lost in the little painted alley ways. Going to a new place and trying new food is made easy these days with the help of Google maps and Trip Advisor/Zomato reviews. While you can be self-reliant because of these technologies, nothing beats when you have a friend who is a local to the city to show you around. Just makes life so much easier and the time ultra maximised.
